Abstract:
As one of the key active nitrogenous compounds in the atmosphere, the atmospheric transformation process of alkyl nitrates will affect the production of ozone and secondary organic aerosols. Alkyl nitrate molecules contain nitro groups and are chemically reactive, making the traceability of alkyl nitrate standards challenging. In order to realize the traceable calibration of alkyl nitrate standard gas, an integrated system of pyrolytic catalysis and gas chromatography with hydrogen flame ionization detection (GC-PC-FID) has been developed in this study, and the mixture standards of isopropyl nitrate and acetone were prepared based on the gravitational method. After the feasibility of the GC-PC-FID was verified by using high-precision methane and carbon dioxide standard gases, acetone was used as an internal standard for the traceability of the prepared isopropyl nitrate standard gas, and the agreement between the detection results and the gravitational concentration was within 0.25%. Therefore, this GC-PC-FID detection system is an effective pathway that can be used for the traceable calibration of alkyl nitrate standards, and lays a research foundation for the establishment of alkyl nitrate scale system.
