正癸烷碳和氢元素含量标准物质的研制

    Development of Reference Materials for n-Decane for Carbon and Hydrogen Content

    • 摘要: 燃油的二氧化碳排放量计量需要准确的碳和氢元素含量。元素含量通常采用元素分析仪测量,该方法需要液体有机纯物质元素含量标准物质来验证方法的准确度。研制了正癸烷碳和氢元素含量标准物质。采用气相色谱仪(配备火焰离子化检测器)和差示扫描量热仪分别测定其有机杂质含量,采用卡尔·费休库仑法测量其水分含量,采用灼烧残渣称重法测量其无机杂质含量,再根据质量平衡原理计算主组分的含量。根据主组分和每种杂质的含量及其分子中碳和氢元素的含量,计算得到该组分的碳和氢元素含量的贡献,再累加到一起,就得到了标准物质的碳和氢元素含量认定值。标准物质元素含量认定值能够溯源至纯物质的原子量以及质量和温度等SI单位。标准物质的碳和氢元素含量分别为84.411%和15.585%,扩展不确定度(Uk=2)分别为0.003%和0.003%,达到元素含量标准物质的国际先进水平。该标准物质可用于验证碳元素含量测量方法的准确度,从源头上保障了燃油二氧化碳排放量的量值溯源。

       

      Abstract: The metrology of the emission of carbon dioxide from liquid fuels require their carbon and hydrogen content. The carbon and hydrogen content of liquid fuel is usually measured via elemental analyzer, and their accuracy require the validation using certified reference materials (CRMs) of pure organic substances for elemental contents. In this study, the CRM of n-decane for carbon and hydrogen content was developed. The content of organic impurities was determined by gas chromatograph with flame ionization detector and differential scanning calorimetry. Karl Fischer coulometric titration and the residue on ignition was used to determine the water content and inorganic impurities content, respectively. The content of the main component was then calculated based on the principle of mass balance. Based on the content of the main component and each impurity, as well as the carbon content of their molecules, the contribution of the carbon content of the component was calculated and then added up to obtain the certified value of the carbon content of the CRM. The certified value of hydrogen content was also calculated by the same method. The certified values are traced to the SI units of mass and temperature of pure substances, as well as atomic weight. The carbon and hydrogen contents of the CRM are 84.411% and 15.585%, respectively. The expanded uncertainty (U, k=2) is 0.003% and 0.003%, respectively, reaching the internationally advanced level. This CRM can be used to validate the accuracy of the carbon content measurement method, ensuring the traceability of the carbon dioxide emissions of liquid fuel.
