    Development of Manufacturing Equipment for Particle-on-Filter Reference Materials

    • . For the research of particle on filter reference materials, in order to enhance the homogeneity and preparation efficiency, as well as reduce the uncertainty from manual operations, a manufacturing equipment was established. Aerosols with certain chemical compositions could be generated, and collected onto multiple filters simultaneously as reference materials. By using the aerosol generator controlling the chemical composition of the particulate matters, and the highly homogeneous flow-dividing sampling technique, up to 16 filter reference materials can be collected at the same time. The maximum difference of the collected particulate matters in a typical batch could be maintained within ±3%, which meets the demand as the reference material. The manufacturing equipment provided a feasible resolution for high-efficient and stable batch preparation for filter reference materials. It is the key infrastructure in the research of filter reference materials.
