Research on Product Protection Testing of Biosafety Cabinets Based on Ejector Effect

    • Current product protection testing for biosafety cabinets (BSCs) involves complex and time-consuming procedures. This study investigates the feasibility of applying the ejector effect to BSC product protection testing. Based on the ejector effect testing approaches (counting method and photometric method) used in clean benches, the ejector effect (counting method and photometric method) was applied to evaluate product protection in six BSCs from different manufacturers. The results were compared with those from traditional BSC product protection testing methods (potassium iodide method and settling plate method). The test results from different methods showed strong consistency. Additionally, the ejector effect testing demonstrated simpler operation and shorter time requirements. The ejector effect (counting method and photometric method) is feasible for BSC product protection testing. It improves on-site testing efficiency and provides an approach from all aspects and multiple angles to validate the effectiveness of BSCs in safeguarding samples.
